Front Rank SYW figures always look the part. |
Painted by the very talented Kiwi Paul Stairs - have a look at the detail in the basing. |
Lovely artillery limber |
A few officers gather in the churchyard to discuss goings on at the front |
Slightly different angle on the shot |
I think you call that detailed ticking on the collar of the Regimental drummer |
Love this Old Glory resin model - before MDF became all the rage this is what we used. |
I will continue to catalogue the various units in the army and see if we can get them set up in a game before Christmas.
They look great Carlo - really well painted. Once I saw JR's one, I went into the basement to inspect the Front Rank lead I had - I think a regiment of the sword wielding Russian Grenadiers may be on their way soon.

Thankyou Richard and yes, Paul in NZ did a great job on painting and basing these.
DeleteLovely painting and great basing.

Thank you Iain.
DeleteThe menace from the east. Still, they are very photogenic. I'm looking forward to seeing more of the old foe.

I knew you would enjoy seeing this lads again Peter.
DeleteVery nice indeed. Still don't like the SYW Front Rank range but those figures are very nice all the same.
ReplyDeleteCheers Paul. Yes FR seem to be a bit like Elite Miniatures in that people either love or hate them.
DeleteI think the Horse Grenadiers are one of the cooler unit types of the SYW, and these are excellent!
ReplyDeleteThank you Peter - it must have been quite unwieldy on the head in the charge though!
DeletePS. I still much prefer resin terrain to all the new fangled pdf stuff.

von Peter himself ... traditionalist!
D'oh ... to all the new fangled mdf stuff.
DeleteAnd innumerable curses to auto correcting that I don't spot until it's published!!!
