Perry Miniatures do put out some absolutely first class figures which lend themselves to so much scope. |
For those of you who have followed this blog for a while you will all know that I very much like vignettes on the table top.
I always think they add so much in terms of setting the scene and establishing scenarios, atmosphere and...well...they look good on the field! That's seems a good enough series of reasons for me that's for sure.
A courier arrives in a flurry, a veteran Cuirassier trooper looks on with a sense of "What do they want us to do now?" |
Just the right amount of determination and uncertainty in this trio of high ranking command |
The vignette base marries in reasonably with my rubber roads. Not perfect but serviceable. |
This vignette had a run at the club Waterloo 2015 celebrations at the NWS and hasn't been out since. Since a brigade of Cuirassiers are on the field in our current battle I thought it was an ideal opportunity to get them out again for a new photoshoot.
luxuriously!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much.
DeleteLooks impressive. nicely posed.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much Paul. Really happy how they turned out.
DeleteA great advertisement for vignettes Carlo. Absolutely spiffing eh what !
ReplyDeleteI think that the at rest Cuirassier are one of the Perry’s better packs. I’d much rather have my heavy cavalry posed at rest. In theory they should be spending around most of their time being carefully hoarded away until a coup de grace is required, Too precious, too expensive and too long to train up to be running about the battlefield willy nilly all day long.
Salute
Von Peter himself
Have to agree Von Peter with your comments on this set from Perrys. Very nice animation and perfect character available in each figure. Yes indeed, the Cuirassiers need to have that reserve pose and I always think of the famous painting of them at Austerlitz by, I think, Meissoner but I could be wrong.
DeleteMagnificent vignettes!
ReplyDeleteThank you Serguiss.
DeleteA lovely piece!
ReplyDeleteCheers Simon - I’m surprised you have time to whisk through blogs at present as you have so much on with the excellent TSS and it’s variants. Busier than the proverbial bricklayer in Beirut!
Delete... I don't get out much, just now. :-(
ReplyDeleteAh but when you do Simon...:^)
DeleteVery nice Vignette. Did you make all the roads because they match pretty well? How’d you pull that off?
ReplyDeleteHi Stew. I wish I had the road making and terrain talent of someone like yourself! No, the roads were pre-purchased several years ago and are rubber latex. I painted them up and flocked the edges using Jojoson Acrylics and then when I was making the command vignette I tried to ensure similar widths and shades.
DeleteWonderful piece, Carlo, and well worth "airing out" on the tabletop at every excuse!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much Peter. I t is good to get the lads out on occasion that's for sure.
DeleteA sweet vignette, Carlo, loads of character. And I like the roads as well.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much Jim. The roads actually came out far better than I thought they would and have a suitably well-worn look about them which is perfect for the Horse and Musket era.
DeleteJust playing catch up
ReplyDeleteCarlo that is superb
Thank you very much for your kind comments Kerry and welcome back mate.
