Battle of Eisdorf Part Two - can the guns lead the way?

Ukrainian Cossacks hoping to find a French flank somewhere on the field today
As previously posted, Paul and I decided to bring the French and Russians out for some 1813 action. Here are some more shots of Saturday’s action.

Calpe Prussians professionally painted and delivered by Big Chris. Superb looking castings expertly
Painted and based by our resident star!

Eisdorf is occupied by Russian Musketeers. Hudson and Allen buildings which are wonderful.

The formation at the bottom is the two Russian Grenadier battalions and a battery who will arrive turn five.

The Italians advance upon the Russian left flank. I’ll rebase those skirmishers by the weekend.

Russian High Command look reasonably relaxed

Russian Jagers take the heights on the tight flank, with one going into skirmish formation

French artillery setting to assault the village

Another view of the Prussian battery

So as we finish this post the French in the centre await the orders to advance whilst the batteries either side of them try and soften up the garrison, albeit semi- successfully.  The Cossacks have been hesitant for three successive turns and now have some of their manoeuvring ability curtailed.

The French brigade on the left and the Italians on the right have advanced and the Russians there have moved to counter.

Interesting moves await.

    1. Thank you so much Stew. I've had so much happening in the life over the past three months that I promised myself that there would be more wargaming and less procrastination about wargamimng! The challenge is t have one of these games on the go at least once a month.
