Horse Artillery ready for action. Oh those dashing Prussians! |
The increased time inside has certainly helped get some more projects completed on the hobby side of things. Working from home has actually been quite hectic however the increased “down time” saved from travelling etc. has given me those extra precious hours to dig into the lead pile and restart some stalled projects.
My Prussian 1806 collection has been added to as you can see. All Miniatures are from Elite Australia and mate Nathan. He is a good lad and looks after all Australian and Kiwi requirements for his excellent range of figures designed by Peter Moreby.

Prussian Jagers - lovely figures. |
I personally think that Elite Miniatures are figures that benefit from a slightly exaggerated layered painting style due to their design and sculpting. Everyone who visits this blog would realise that the 1805-07 project of mine will be 90% made up of Elites. They look so good en masse.

These are lovely sculpts from Elite Miniatures |

A slightly wider view of the Foot battery showing the form of basing I’m using for this period |
I’ll have these lads on the table for an introductory game of Napoleonics using General D’Armee with Ben. Great having Wargamers in the house at times like these.
Your basing for this project is really attractive.
ReplyDeleteBest Regards,
Stokes
Thank you Stokes and as always your comments are most gracious. The basing on the artillery, which I was inspired to imitate from the incredibly talented John Ray, seems to very much polarize wargamers. They either adore it or think its the worst thing ever!
DeleteWow, first class reinforcements, your Prussians look splendid!!
ReplyDeleteThanks very much Phil.
DeleteGreat period army - I've let myself imagine getting into early Prussians. Glad to see you lead pile get some colour. Nothig is more important - except all those other things like family and work.
ReplyDeleteYou need to succumb to the force Greg...you know you want to. You are also 100% correct on the priorities of life mate.
DeleteThey look great Carlo, those odd shaped bases really do add something and make a nice change from the usual rectangles most of us use
ReplyDeleteThanks Kerry. As i mentioned above to Stokes, the bases are in that love/hate category from comments they have garnered. This will be the basing style for all my 1805-07 and Peninsular collections, all of which will be 95% Elite and Connoisseur Miniatures with a few selected Front Rank chaps tossed in.
DeleteThey have come up nicely Carlo and thank you for mentioning Elite Miniatures.....I do try my best to support the Aussie wargamer.

Nathan
Thanks so much Nathan - great figures especially in this period.
DeleteLovely looking additions to your collection Carlo...
ReplyDeleteI particularly like the jägers....
All the best. Aly
Thank you so much Aly. Yes the jagers and the Jager officer are gorgeous.
DeleteI do love the early Prussian uniforms; so much more glamorous than the dull later Prussians, and these Elite figures really shown them off to advantage!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Peter for your comments. This range is superb for the 1806 figures and I am getting them out next week for a GdA game - cant wait.
DeleteHello Carlo
ReplyDeleteI've probably "said" it here before but I think that the 1806 Prussians have the makings of a splendid looking army. And these pictures back up that thinking wonderfully.
I raise a glass of schnapps to your productivity! 8O)
