Attack on the Pratzeburg - Austerlitz General D’Armee

The layout with Vandamme and St. Hilliard facing the allies as they prepare to descend the Pratzen

I’ve been collecting, commissioning and painting towards this for years!

Russians defending Stare Vinohrady

St Hillaires command

Rottermund and his recruit graded brigade

Kaminsky, who is actually right on the tables edge on hold orders, with Fangoria and Ryansk regiments.

Jurcsik and Weyroeths command

There should be four large 40 figure French battalions but three Plus one x 36 will have to do.
St. Hillaire  surveys the field

It’s an interesting view for him

Acquired from the great Doug Mason who grabbed it from the wonderful John D who restored it.

Get that wine out of there in a hurry lads!

Love the early look of the Russians from Elite Miniatures in this period

Elite Miniatures early French. In my opinion, sone of their finest sculpts.

The artillery basing is inspired by the very talented John Ray

Van Dammes lads.

Just some administration work to complete and then the games as well as the Napoleonic education, Wargames wise that is, begins!

  10. A most excellent montage Carlo. Both of the tabletop and the glimpses of your special room.

Here's hoping that the game is a big hit for all those involved. But seriously what could go wrong?

    1. Hi Kevin and so great to hear from you. Ive just also remembered those sabres so will contact you shortly. Thanks for popping past and they game should be a bit of a slow, educational burn in terms of working the oldest through the mechanisms of these excellent rules.

  14. What a fantastic collection, early Napoleonic is undoubtedly my favourite period, I use the Old Glory French for many of my French Revolutionary figures. Look forward to more.

    1. Hi Dave - its certainly a period which doesn't seem to get as much exposure as it should that's for sure. These figures and table takes me back to the games in WI and MW early with so many figures from Peter Moreby's own Elite Miniatures collection. Early Prussians, Russians and French looking resplendent.
      Thanks for your kind comments.

  15. What a splendid collection Carlo...
This is certainly going to be a spectacular affair...

I particularly like your French Light Infantry...

    All the best. Aly...

You have even had me looking on the Elite Miniatures web site...😂

    1. Thank you so much Aly. I would love for you to start a small brigade or so of early Napoleonic wars Elites. Now that would be tremendous exposure for the period and the figures would be impeccable. The French Infantry uniform in this period with side plume etc. is really stunning. I've managed to sneak a few Front Rank Drum Majors and Jingling Johnny's in there as well just for good measure.
By the way your "Brown Liquid" is absolutely transforming the way I paint figures for this period and I have converted a couple of close mates onto the formula as well. I love it!

    2. The early Napoleonics are yet another colourful phase of an already colourful period... it is indeed very tempting.
I shall wait until I have enough Shiny Napoleonics to have a game before I jump further... and deeper into the period...

I am glad you like my “Brown Liquid “ (now I never thought I would be saying that to anyone 😱)... it has certainly helped speed up my own painting... Although I still like to spend a little longer on command stands.

      All the best. Aly

    3. Ha ha - yes I see what you mean by "Brown Liquid" admiration Aly. Its just made such a difference with my shading and depth. The return visit of a brush with highlights and more painting just works so tremendously well!

  16. Superb images of an impressive collection that I have been watching develop for some time. Thanks for the inspirational posts. I too love Elite miniatures and agree that the early French are particularly lovely. I also use their 30mm Collectors figures. You mentioned Doug Mason. What has become of him? His site is static and the last post mentioned that his collections were available for purchase?????

Doug is taking commissions again and can be reached via Facebook on The Napoleonic Wargamer Group which btw is full of so many tremendous peoples impressive collections. I'm glad we both have the same opinon on Elite Miniatures, especially for this period.

  18. What a fabulous table and wargaming room Carlo! Its been a few years since we've run into each other (CanCon 2018??) but I'm pleased to see your magnificent collection continues to grow and I'm looking forward to seeing your magnificent Kaiserliks in action!

    1. Thank you so much Brad and yes, it has been far too long since we have caught up. Cancon 2015 would be closer to the mark I think. If you look closely you will see two of your fine painted Generals, alongside some recently painted additions, leading on a couple of Austrian Brigades by the way.
