Syracuse versus Later Achaemenid Persian TtS

The hill is taken early by the Syracusan Hoplites which would prove decisive

Great fun game tonight as Guido and I took on Jeff in another To the Strongest game. So much fun.

Light cavalry on the flank tries its best. In fact it fought superbly.

Jeffs excellent Hoplites

The view from the Persian lines

Absolutely love the new chits from BigRedBat Shop.

It was an enormously fun game and though the Syracusans had a narrow win, it was a well fought out battle.  Great set of rules.

  1. Another great game Carlo, thanks for the invite to play. Yes it was a very close finish, we only needed to destroy one more unit. Next time maybe?

  2. That looks like fun, and I'm still hoping to convince the group I game with to give TtS a run.

    1. It’s a superb game system Lawrence and you can take it as seriously as you like for competitions or casual as you like for a Wednesday game with mates and a beer. Highly recommended!

    1. Thanks Matty. At times I think they are a bit like Neapolitan Napoleonics- very pretty to look at however a bit brittle under pressure.

  6. Looks great, and it seems like a very close game. I am considering whether to add Persians to the collection after I finish expanding my chariot era and Indian armies, that is!

    1. You certainly should Peter. I’m actually contemplating adding a few elements of Bowmen with lavishes to set out an Early Achaemenid Persian army. Your chariot era armies are looking superb by the way. I’m very envious.
