Divisional Napoleonic encounter in Russia

The French assault a Russian foot battery

Steve and I had another gun game of Empire V at the club on Wednesday night.  We always love get the old Minifigs 15mm Napoleonics out and this was no exception as we continue to re-learn the rules.

A great fun game which saw the glorious French 7th Hussars tout a Russian cavalry brigade and the mighty 33rd Ligne take on the battery seen in the photograph above.

Steve’s Russians always look great and he plays them with a passion and
stoutness which is perfect for their abilities on the field.

The 7th see off the enemy cavalry

Once again blogger has gotten me again with photos out of sequence but what can you?

  1. In any case, it looks like a good game. Reminds me too of the photographs used to illustrate the venerable title Napoleonic Wargaming for Fun by Paddy Griffith.

    Best Regards,

    1. Hi Stokes and thanks again for your kind comments. It certainly has remained a Spartan style terrain table whilst we rekindle our knowledge of the rules that’s for sure.

  2. A nice looking game Carlo...
It does indeed have a bit of an old school style about it.

    All the best. Aly

  3. I’ve started uploading my pics one at a time to make sure that they stay in order but it can be a pain. I wonder also if it matters what you title the picture.
But in any case it looks like a good time. I’m jealous that you’re getting games in at the club. 😀
