Action towards the end of the day |
Steve and I have both been looking towards the next Saturday gaming day at the Napoleonic Wargaming Society so we could have a more leisurely and larger game of Empire V as we continue to enjoy the “Old School” games we loved do much in the 1980’s and 90’s.
In the end it was a very close run thing. The Austrian Korps was unable to crack through however did do well. The French Light cavalry brigade on the left flank performed sterling service routing two battalions of line. Two batteries of guns as well as two under strength Austrian Hussar regiments.
Always great fun playing Steve and getting the old Minifig 15mm boys out for a game!
Very impressive with all the trappings of Empire. We'd call our big games 'table thumpers' due to the estimated weight of the lead.c
ReplyDeleteThank you P. I love the idea of Table Thumpers. Back when I was in my early 20’s we used to have big weekend games where we hired the ball and slept there so we could maximise play. Fond memories of games with eight players a side and ten corps each army on the field across 30 feet of table. Great memories of Empire III.
DeleteVery nice looking and thanks for all the photos of the old Minifigs.

I love the old Minifig Napoleonics Chris and I’m always searching for more painted ones if you have any in the old boxes gathering dust.
DeleteGreat stuff Carlo and wonderful too see you keeping on these semi-regular runs with Empire. I'm disappointed that Steve let you put lay-down roads instead of chalk!
ReplyDeleteRegards, James
Have a look at the first photo Fish as I’m sure you can see the tub of chalk he brought along as a joke...I think!
DeleteNo just out of shot. Take my word for it that it was there😂
DeleteSplendid stuff Carlo…
ReplyDeleteI love that classic old school style…
All the best. Aly
Thank you Aly very greatly appreciated. I enjoy the old school look even in these old relatively simply done 15mm Minifigs. They have a charm.
DeleteReally old school… I was a young teenager in the 90s…😀
ReplyDeleteBut the pics are some nice eye candy.
Thanks Stew - those years just fly by mate faster than you can imagine.
DeleteNice pics Carlo- memories of a far off time! And getting the older collections out is always fun!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely John. The lighter boxes help the aging shoulders as well😅
DeleteLovely - One can never tire of seeing Minifigs on the table I think
