Some rebasing on a glorious Sunday

Just a couple of brigades on the go here

A very quick post to show that I’m not totally being a lazy so and so hobby wise. I made a decision about three months ago to rebase my Prussian 1806 infantry from the old “In the Grand Manner” four  bases of eight to five bases of six which I know my friend Nathan is doing in Townsville. I thought the overall look certainly suited them perfectly , particularly in their linear doctrine.

I acquired a wonderful addition collection from the US late last year ( thanks Jon) and they are also down for re-basing.

While I’m at it how about a few updated photos on those Prussian and Saxon Hussars.

More pictures soon.

  1. I knew you just weren’t lying around doing nothing.
That’s a lot to rebase there. I don’t envy you the task.
It’s getting them off the old base that’s the big pain. Making the new base is alright but time consuming.
    Good luck! 😀

    1. Thanks so much Stew. It can be a pain and then the painting, gluing, dry-brushing. I wonder what I’m doing sometimes!!

  2. Looking good Carlo, a very impressive Prussian army. As per my blog, I think I may have bitten off more than I can chew with my latest projects but the need to improve, adapt and make our troops look their best is overwhelming at times.

    1. Absolutely Aly. I do like this particular period so much. The figures have so much character and dynamism in their sculpts.

  4. Carlo, I've just come back to the blog after following it from Scott's youtube video. Your continued work on these Elite minis looks excellent. The early Prussian army is such a good looking army and the regimental colour - while similar to the latter ones and the Russian - have something a little extra and look superb. Richard

    1. Thanks Richard . Great to have you visit and comment mate as I thought the early Prussians were not hitting the popularity stakes in the community as they have at my place.

  5. Such a good looking army the early Prussians and these look grand indeed—even if no longer from that manor.

  6. I missed this one back when. I hate rebasing, but my do these troops look good! The earlier Prussian uniforms were so much more attracted than the drab later ones!

  7. Unlike some, I enjoy rebasing as usually the process is successful in enhancing the units involved. Certainly you have good looking Prussians!
