An interesting find in an old book shop

In pristine condition awaiting my pique of interest

Every now again you come across something of interest which you’ve never, ever heard of.

Today was one such day.

On my way to a meeting I decided to pop into my favourite old second hand bookstore to grab a copy of Catcher in the Rye, a book I've always wanted to read but never gotten around to.  After grabbing that this book featured above caught my eye.

A bit of a rundown on what to spect - very interesting

Written by William Seymour and published in 1982, the author was an ex- Scots Guards soldier who served overseas,  who took up cartography and also published several works. “Battles in Britain” are two I have on my shelf and both are excellent.

This looks very interesting.  It’s not like the old books we came across as kids which asked you to pick a choice and go to page 46 such as “Redcoats and Minuteman”. It does however look like a bloody good read from a chap I’m familiar with. $18 Australian dollars for a hardcover first edition - not too bad. I did notice some paperback ones available online so hopefully it will be well worthwhile.

Has anyone else come across this particular tome?

  3. What a great find. I have a funny feeling I borrowed it from the public library in about 1988!
