These lads are all waiting for some more help to take on the French |
Lovely looking Prussians with a couple of lovely Doug Mason special Saxon Heavy Cavalry regiments rubbing shoulders with them on the shelf |
Some infantry and Command stands |
Just a quick post to show that the 28mm 1805-07 Glory Years collection has continued to be worked on during recent play testing and 18mm club games. Those who have followed various posts know that this is a period I enjoy very much and I have looked to use Elite Miniatures figures as much as possible.
I’ve recently acquired a beautiful collection of 1806 Prussians figures from a super chap in the United States (more of that in a post once they’ve been based) and thought I’d add some more artillerists and guns for a few more batteries. I had also commissioned a regiment of Hussars, well the troopers and officers at least, with the horses and some additional trumpeters being finished off by myself.
The Hussars before some highlights and basing |
Still a way to go on these guns |
Added a few more artillerists to match up with those from the US and my existing collection that are on the shelves |
Love those Early Prussian Horse Artillery |
I’ll look to get these all based up in the next few weeks.
A lovely looking army Carlo even if they're not much cop in a scrap!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kerry for your kind comments. In GDA2 they are somewhat limited by command, potential ADC availability and regimental linear doctrines however the troops themselves are pretty solid. Looking forward to giving them a good tun.
DeleteCarlo,
ReplyDeleteCabinets and workbench full of wonderfully painted miniatures. You must be most pleased.
Regards
John
Great to hear from you John. I’ve been admiring your latest shots and units on your wonderful blog and they are as always incredibly inspirational. I am very pleased how these 1805-07 armies continue to grow most certainly.
DeleteThat is quite a collection, and the figures on the display shelf look great assembled together.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much Lawrence for your generous words.
DeleteKeep plinking away at them and I’m sure they’ll be ready for the table in no time. 😀
ReplyDeleteThanks Stew. Slowly getting there buddy.
DeleteA splendid looking collection Carlo….
ReplyDeleteIt’s all so tempting…
All the best. Aly
Thank you so much Aly. I very much enjoy the earlier period of the Napoleonic Wars and this particular version of the Prussian army is do very beautiful.
DeleteA great looking army Carlo and all those artillery pieces! The Prussians are probably the least colourful of the armies in the Napoleonic wars but these look fantastic, especially the hussars.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your very kind comments B. The early Prussians are actually quite lovely, especially the cavalry but also the Grenadiers, fusiliers etc. I’ll post a few to show what they can look like with some unit selection. Otherwise, as you say, there’s a hell of a lot of deep Prussian blue😉
