The battle rages on across the tight flank |
Last night was fantastic.
We played a wonderful game of To the Strongest with some lovely troops against some good friends at our brilliant Wargames club. To top that off, it was a close run thing played in such good spirit and humour that my sides were literally aching by games end. Brilliant fun!
As usual blogger has my photos of the night out of chronological order however best to see the action and enjoy the images.
Suffice to say it was a tough and see-sawing battle with the Gauls having the Romans on the precipice until, as is want to happen with the warrior war and style armies, the combined carnage that had accrued proved too much. Seriously enjoyable.
Great looking figures/basing with this wonderful game. Nicely played and photographed.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much Dean. I worry sometimes that I’m the chief cheerleader for these excellent rules however they are do enjoyable whilst not losing their tactical and historical basis. My Sub- General Jeff is an accomplished published author on the classical period and he thoroughly enjoys them.
DeleteGlad you enjoyed yourself so much. The troops look awesome
ReplyDeleteIt was a beautiful looking game Chris and one for the ages.
DeleteGreat looking game Carlo. Very photogenic imagery of a lovely collection of figures at full tilt on the battlefield. What's not to like? Great you had such good fun Carlo too, its what it all about eh?!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much Kevin.
DeleteLooks great and it sounds like, as is usually the case, the company made the game extra special.
ReplyDeleteAs you well know, I share your enthusiasm for TTS!, which has resulted in major expansions of my Ancients collection!
Cheers Peter. I need yo investigate the Renaissance variation which I know you have played with.
DeleteA splendid looking game with lots of pretty toy soldiers...
ReplyDeleteWhat’s not to like.
All the best. Aly
Indeed Aly - the most enjoyable hobby around.
DeleteA lovely looking game Carlo and the figures are beaut. I especially like the woad on the Gauls.
ReplyDeleteI have taken to inserting photos into posts one or a few at a time. I seem to be able to drag one above the other when the order is not as expected.
Regards, James
I’m going to have to do the same thing I think James.mr it will take a while to load up on some of the bigger posts that’s for sure.
DeleteIt’s nice when the miniatures, the terrain, the people, and the attitudes all click together. 😀
ReplyDeleteI’m jealous that you’re actually playing games as well.
Thanks Stew and believe me when I say that I’m so sympathetic to our wargaming companions abroad. We have been so fortunate in Australia and especially in Perth.
