Elite Miniatures early Prussians on the basing table |
As most of you who regularly follow this blog are aware, I am building a force of Elite Miniature figures to be able to fight battles during the period often referred to as Napoleons "Glory Years". That is of course the wonderful 1805-07 period which saw the armies of the First Empire take on the Russians, Austrians and Prussians regularly and most often, with legendary success.
The Russians are almost complete, at least the amount that I am going to paint, have painted and base up. The final muster has a few more units to be added but is 95% complete and will be the subject of a total muster post at another time.
The Austrians for this period have been quietly being added to and I can happily say they have started to come on very nicely. Once again, all Elite Miniatures (well nearly all), in resplendent early uniforms complete with leather helmet etc. They will have a muster sometime in the next few months as well.

Excellent miniatures, Carlo! I also love this period.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sergey. It is certainly a period which for whatever reason does not seem to be wargamed all that much outside of the Wargames Holiday Centre.
DeleteKeep on trucking so battles may be fought with glorious painted troops! 😀
ReplyDeleteCertainly will Stew - 10-4 good buddy!
ReplyDeleteI do love the Prussian uniforms of this period, even if they didn't fight terribly well! :-)
ReplyDeleteSo do I Peter. I'm looking forward to having a division of Saxons and Prussians out on the tabletop finding bicorne clad French sometime in August with a bit of luck.
DeleteLovely looking Prussians! They're a great looking ( if not terribly successful) army!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
I'll be very keen to see them on the field Iain as Ive always wanted to have an 1806 Prussian and Saxon force to play with since the days of seeing Pete Morebys figures in Wargames Illustrated
DeleteIt looks like there is nothing for it but to join with the others and profess my appreciation for the looks of the 1806 Prussian Army. Luverlee!
