The Light Column of the Romans has done its job |
Well the game was played out to the finish and though the Sassanids fought it out, inflicting incredible damage whilst only having one victory medal in the pocket, it was a mighty Roman victory.
|
A Legio breaks through the line |
|
The Sassanids look to turn the Roman left however they are meeting very stiff resistance |
|
Some raw Legionnaires look to make their mark with some gentle prompting by their General |
|
The gap that has formed on the Roman left |
|
On the Roman right the Light Column is raising merry hell! |
|
Bowmen run for their lives |
|
Saravan, or as I used to call them in WRG days, Clibanarri, hit the Roman Equites in the flank |
During the excitement the photos became secondary as Alex fought like a Tasmanian devil to hand on and pull victory out of the mouth of defeat. Alas it was not to be.
A good sound tactical win by Ben with promises of rematches ringing all the way down the stairs.
Wonderful!!
An impressive sight! Thank you for your report
ReplyDeleteCheers K - it was a lot of fun.
DeleteA lovely looking game Carlo...
ReplyDeleteI like Sassanids and late Romans... so a good result all round.
All the best. Aly
Thanks Aly. The lads are having another crack at the moment at a game and have switched shirts so Ben is a Sassanid General and Alex a Roman. Most importantly they are enjoying themselves.
DeleteThis looks great as usual Carlo, your recent Napoleonic game inspired me to play one of my own, similarly, every time I see your TTS games I tell myself I must get to grips with my copy of the rules and work out how to play
ReplyDeleteYou would absolutely love the game system Kerry and the style of basing etc. will absolutely suit your style of gaming. Thanks once again for the lovely comments.
DeleteGood to see the young Generals battling it out in style.
ReplyDeleteCheers for that Peter and you are correct, its great to see them playing these games. I am very lucky to have two wargamers in the house during the pandemic period that's for sure.
