Wonderful looking battle Carlo. The guys have a great collection. It is a 'pretty' period.
ReplyDeleteRichard
Thank you very much Richard got your kind comments I will pass them onto the lads. I have my own Duch WSS that I’m looking forward to getting onto the table soon.
DeleteGreat looking terrain and table set up, Carlo. Figures are also impressive. So far, I've only found a few changes with the 2nd edition of the rules; notably the use of the army general to re-roll a failed command by a brigade commander.
ReplyDeleteMartin always puts a great table together.
DeleteGreat looking game, Carlo! Happy Christmas, Simon
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you and yours as well Simon.
DeleteBeautiful table and beautiful game, Carlo!
ReplyDeleteMartin and Steven will very much appreciate your kind comments Serguiss. Thanks.
DeleteBeautiful terrain and figures! Wonderful atmosphere!
ReplyDeleteCheers Dmitry and many thanks.
DeleteGreat looking game. So, what was your reaction to the BP rules.
ReplyDeleteI have a copy, but the pretty pictures aside, they seem bland to me, and I am not a fan of saving throws, either. However, reading a rules set is a far cry from actually playing them!
To be honest Peter they are ok however not my first choice for games I organise. I prefer GdA for Napoleonic battles and only play BP to enjoy games with Steve and Marty. A bit too generic for me.
DeleteLooks very nice Carlo! And another request for a rules review :)
ReplyDeleteHi young Mark and review request duly noted😉. As mentioned above I’m not a massive fan of genetic rule sets that encompass massive spans of time and theatres etc. for horse and musket games. I am a massive fan of general de armee for Nappys like ypurself. Last Argument of Kngs, the WSS and SYW supplemen for BP is actually very good. Production values of the tiles are superb.
DeleteLovely looking table, great looking figures and terrain!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Cheers Iain - Steve and Marty will be chuffed you enjoyed their collections.
DeleteBeautiful pics Carlo. More congrats to pass on to Stephen and Martin!
ReplyDeleteDo I take it from the pictorial summary that the Brits did not force the crossing?
Absolutely will James and yes, you’re assumption is correct. The Bavarian defence was too firm and the failure of the Anglo Dutch to manoeuvre with any speed or urgency proved it yo be...are you ready...”a bridge too far!”.
DeleteDroll, very droll--love it!!
